That gig at Owens Beach was a make or break situation as the crowd was estimated at around 5,000, which was about 4,500 more than we had ever played for.  Bruce Cannon from KTAC radio had never heard us before and really went out on a limb having us play.  He told Neil Johnson, our manager, " your boys better be good because the city of Tacoma would know afterwards if we weren't".  Needless to say we were scared sh#%less.  Everything went well and we received two standing ovations.  That was a major highlight in my life that I will never forget.  It also contributed to KTAC booking us as a back-up band for touring groups such as Sugarloaf.

I was in Mourning Sunn back in the day.  We were the road band for them and also for Sugerloaf after their hit Green Eyed Lady came out.  Gypsy had the Gypsy Queen back in 1970-71.

Both we and Gypsy played at UPS Fieldhouse.   Gypsy also played in Bellingham but I can’t remember where we played at?  I’m getting old too so I forget some of the places we and others played.  We had such a busy three years during 69-71
