Casey James went to work as a staff song writer for Thom Bell (when he worked in Seattle).  Eventually Casey formed Bell & James (with a nephew of Thom Bell's).  Bell & James had a top-10 hit: "Livin' it Up (Friday Night)", and wrote "Mama Can't Buy Me Love" for Elton John.
