Sam's M1898 US Rifle, Cal .30/40, (Krag)


These are my recently acquired US Rifles, M1898, Caliber .30/40, commonly called the Krag.



Early M1898 with correct M96 rear sight-

Barrel:          Original, excellent bright bore with sharp lands and grooves.
Headspace:  Perfect
MW:              1.0
Stock:           Excellent condition including hand guard.
Comments:   Overall VG-E metal and wood.
Receiver:      1898, SN 221,XXX
Barrel:          Original, excellent bright bore with sharp lands and grooves.
Headspace:  Perfect
MW:              1.0
Stock:           Excellent condition including both hand guards.
Comments:   Exterior of receiver, barrel, bands and other parts chrome plated.  Historical search indicates this was a probably former USMA parade rifle.  The weapon is completely operational and shootable.

Both rifles came from the estate of a collector in the Fall of 2005
